Why should I become a member?

Answer: We'll give you 5 reasons:

1.You get 100 reminders via email or cellphone for free. It's a worthwhile service - you set them up once and that's it, you're done forever!

2. You get to use and send our exclusive line of e-cards, for free. We work very hard on these e-cards and will continue to add more and more.

3. Unlike our competition, we don't rent your information - guaranteed. No Spam - guaranteed and we mean it.

4. We leverage the size of our member base to get you discounts you can't get anywhere else like 10% off birthday cakes. We don't have many right now but the list is growing and the bigger our memberbase gets, the better and bigger the discounts.

5. Free jokes, quotes, trivia and facts in every reminder. Unlike our competitors who fill their reminders with advertisements and products, we try to entertain you! Every reminder we send includes our Joke, Quote, Trivia Question and Factoid of the Day! We've made reminding fun.

Answer: You can add up to 100 reminders to your account. We feel that number should cover your needs while allowing us to keep this a free service.

What if I don't know someone's birthday?

Answer: That's easy. We give you your own 'birthday page'. All you have to do is send the special web address to family and friends and they can add their birthday to YOUR account. It's so easy!

Why is it free?

Answer: We'll tell you right now that most of the free services out there are renting your information. You should indeed be skeptical of free offers.

So why is it free? Well, we make money on the greeting cards we sell in the Card Store (try it out, it is incredible) and small commissions from gift items. There are others areas as well.

The question really is: what do you want? Nothing is free.

In return for using our services, we ask (and only ask) that you help us in the following ways:

1. Add reminders to your account.

2. Read the reminders.

We work hard to put together really good deals and suggestions for our members, including exclusive discounts we negotiate because of the size of our memberbase. There is strength in numbers.

You should make sure you read the reminder when it arrives.

3. Support our effort.

Tell friends, put up a link, etc. Make a small effort to help us in some way.

4. Use our exclusive discounts.

Again, we work really hard to get our members those discounts, many times we have to lower our own commission to get them.

HELP - I am not receiving my reminders!

Answer: This is our most common question. There several reasons you might not be receiving your reminders. Please review each carefully to determine the issue:

1. Spam Filter - If you have Outlook or another email program with a spam/junk email filter then adjust so it will allow emails from 'webmaster at happybirthday.com'

Note: Some organizations like schools, corporations and government agencies have system-wide spam filtering systems. Please check to make sure they allow emails from happybirthday.com

2. Junk Email - Your email program may automatically be sending your reminders to your "Junk E-mail" folder. Open the folder.

If you see a reminder from HappyBirthday.com in this folder, select it and then right-click on your mouse. Got Junk E-mail > Add Sender to Safe List and select that option.

3. Wrong Email Address - Login to your account and make sure the correct email address is listed.

4. Account Preferences - Verify when your reminders are being sent. Login to your account and click on 'Account Preferences' on your account home page. Select when you'd like to receive your reminders.

5. ????? - Sometimes emails get lost and no one knows why. Sometimes the mail system may be down temporarily for maintenance and the reminder bounces. Sometimes there is a back-up in the mail system because of a virus or attack that slows all the traffic to a halt.

Point is, despite all we do to get you your reminders, they may sometimes just not get there and that is nobody's fault but an imperfect system. For this we apologize but we have set up a system whereby you'll get multiple reminders for each birthday, thus making sure that if one gets eaten by the system you'll get the next or the next.

So we recommend setting up your 'Account Preferences' to receive at the minimum 2 reminders per birthday but we highly suggest three per birthday.

How do I cancel my membership?

Answer: Just click this link and enter your account information. Your account will be closed and deleted.

Answer: Just go to our Contact Us page and select which department you'd like to contact.

If you emailing to complain, please remember that this is a free service and we work very hard to make it of value to our members. Sometimes things just go wrong and it's nobody's fault. If you can't appreciate the free service then frankly, we'd rather not have you.
